Long distance relationship Advice

Hello everyone!
I recently began a long distance relationship with someone. We get on extremely well and we feel a great connection, and it is already something very special. I was just wondering if anyone has any advice for me about how to keep the magic alive from this distance, and ensure we don’t drift apart. We have a year until we can finally start meeting frequently. Thank you! She really matters to me, so any advice you think of would be greatly appreciated.

im in a long distance relationship and would recommend;
1) silly online games to feel like youre doing the same thing -we love battleships!
2) any serious convos or fights should be done on facetime -not text!
3) make sure to communicate your communication preferences ie. blocking out time to talk
4) send letters too! or postcards!

Thank you so much! Letters are a really fantastic idea!! I love that! Silly online games are cool too! In video calls we like to do blind tests for metal songs hihi. We do actually have a lot of deep but also very playful conversations by text, it is how we met so I think we have always gotten used to it, but I am trying to save deeper chats for video calls. How long have you been in this relationship? 😁 Do you think there is anything else I should be aware of just with the flow of things? We are both 17 by the way.

omg the metal songs are so cute! me and my gf have a very different music taste tho lol! im also 17 and she's 18 and weve been together for about 8 months, only thing I'd add is probably try to meet in person before too long otherwise it might be a bit awkward.

Yeahhh we love literally the same exact songs and bands except she is teaching me more about black metal, which I am really loving 🥰. We have a spotify list together we started the first week we met and we like to listen to it together on jams hihi. Wow 8 months is amazing, I am happy for you! We discussed the distance and we know that we would only be able to meet in person for the first time in a year 😭😭, but we have lots of fun now so I think we are doing very well so far, I am more just worried about maintaining our connection as we get to where you guys are you know? But I feel like we really can to be honest.
