Getting into a UK uni

Guys would you say I have a solid chance of getting into a UK uni (Oxbridge would be a dream come true), right now I've done O/L's and AS levels and am doing my A2 levels this year,
I got 5A*'s 1A and 1B for my Cambridge O/L's , 3A's for my AS levels in Math , Physics and Chem along with the Cambridge award for the highest in the country for AS level Mathematics. I was thinking of doing further math on another sitting as well. As for extra curriculars and positions- I was the head prefect of our school , I was the vice president of the MUN club at out school and I was involved in the social welfare club of our school and it's projects such as a free eye consultation camp in light of the recent World Glaucoma week. Yea this is about it, I would really appreciate it if you guys can give me some insight on what uni's I should look into after I finish my A2's and also considering my current repertoire. Thank you !!!

No-one has a 'solid' chance of getting into either Oxford or Cambridge, the most that can be said is they interview a high proportion that have the entry grade predictions.

Other than that, you would certainly get offers. The UK system runs through an organisation called UCAS and you have 5 choices. With offers around A grade and sensible choices around uni and subject, you will likely get 4-5 offers and be able to choose.

The challenge subjects where that isn't always true are medicine and vet med. The issue of where to go is subject dependent, apply to the unis that have the subject/course structure that appeals.

Oxbridge don't take account of extracurriculars, unless related directly to your subject. Other unis may take some notice, but as, outside school, they are mostly a matter of social opportunity, they aren't a big factor.

Thank you very much for the insight !!!. I was thinking of applying for Mechanical Engineering, I was curious to know whether with the grades I have a spot at a uni like Cambridge might be possible,

If you meet the minimum requirements for A level (i.e. your A level grades are at least A*A*A and in the relevant subjects), apply! If you’re really concerned, attend virtual open days this summer and ask the admissions tutors or email the outreach teams of the colleges directly. They’re very friendly and in this season, they’ll be getting a lot of such emails.

PS Cambridge only offer general engineering (you specialise later, I believe). They also state that further maths is strongly encouraged (and required at certain colleges). https://www.undergraduate.study.cam.ac.uk/courses/engineering-ba-hons-meng

You should be able to get into a UK university but except in edge cases it's hard to say anyone has a good chance at Oxbridge. Really depends how you do on the day in the interviews and interview tests.

i would advise doing Further Maths if you can, ideally in the same sitting if your school offers it.

Very few of your listed extracurriculars would make any difference whatsoever to your application to Oxbridge as they are unrelated to Engineering. I would advise looking into supercurriculars, i.e. things related to your subject but above and beyond your school curriculum.
