Inquiry Regarding External Transfer to Cambridge Clinical School

I am writing to inquire about the possibility of transferring into the Clinical Course at the University of Cambridge as an external candidate. I am a prospective medical student who will be commencing the MBBS programme at Imperial College London this September, and I am deeply interested in the MB/PhD Programme offered by the Cambridge Clinical School.

As I understand, external applicants must first be accepted into the Cambridge Clinical Course before being eligible for consideration for the MB/PhD Programme. (https://www.medschl.cam.ac.uk/clinical-school-mbphd-course-information) However, I have not been able to find detailed information on their website regarding the procedure for applying to transfer from another UK medical school.

I would be most grateful if you could kindly provide guidance on the following: 1) Would the medical curriculum at Imperial be considered compatible with the requirements of the Cambridge Clinical Course for transfer purposes? 2) What are the specific eligibility criteria, timeline, and application procedures for external applicants wishing to transfer into the Clinical Course? 3) If successfully admitted and upon completion of the clinical years at Cambridge, would I be eligible to graduate with a medical degree from the University of Cambridge? 4) As an international student paying overseas tuition fees, would my application be at a disadvantage compared to those from home students?

I am highly committed to pursuing a career as a physician-scientist and view the Cambridge MB/PhD Programme as a unique and invaluable opportunity to further my training in both clinical medicine and academic research. Any advice or information you could provide regarding the transfer process would be sincerely appreciated.

It specifically details that it takes 1 or 2 student transfers between 3rd and 4th year and to contact the Clinical Dean. You need to contact the Clinical Dean. You aren't likely to find on elf those 1 or 2 per year on TSR.

Thanks for letting me know. Unfortunately, the email address of the clinical dean is not valid. Do you know his accurate email address? That would be very helpful

Not a medic here, but a quick google for "Cambridge clinical dean email" suggests the following:
Clinical Dean: Dr P Wilkinson: tel. 01223 336733, e-mail: [email protected]

Does that help?
