Higher History historiography

Hey everyone, for the higher history exam, when writing an essay and using a historians quote for the evaluation, do i have to remember a WHOLE quote and memorise it, because some are quite long and i'm wondering if i can just reference it in my own words?

probably just reference if it's really long, or quote a part of it. I'm not using any in my essays and still getthifh marks if you can't remember it in the exam

youll find it easier to do comparison evaluations where you relate the factor your discussing with another factor in the essay with relation to the question, the basic evaluations (quoting/new information) can only get you a max of 2/4 evaluation marks in each essay as theyre capped
