chem, maths, f maths combo

Hi all,

I have chosen these A-levels for sixth form in september. Not too sure what degree I would want to study at university. Has anyone taken these specific subjects before? If so, can I ask what you did at uni or maybe after college? For reference, I absolutely love Maths and have been looking at potential going into the Finance/Banking sector. Thanks for all responses in advance!🙏🏻

Several of my friends do this combo but usually with either biology or physics too. They generally aspire toward physics, maths, engineering, medicine or chemistry in my experience.
Your a levels should be fine for finance/banking. You could consider taking another subject in case you have/want to drop fm (it’s challenging) but as you want to do a very mathsy type degree thats not a big pressure on your choice. An epq could be good to show essay skills.
Hope that helps 🙂

If you are thinking of doing anything banking/finance related, id double check the course on unit websites to see if they specify any particular a-levels.

Maths is a great subject to take as it opens up so many uni course options. Most course that are based on maths will require maths as an A-level and potentially another science, which you are doing. Further maths is a good choice as the first year content of a maths/science degree covers fm content so you will get a head start
