Official 2025 Offer Holder Thread Biomedical Science University of Sheffield

Hey guys! I'm starting this thread because I haven't seen one similar to this. This is a great place to talk about the course, accommodation, and any questions you may have. Anyone with an offer from the University of Sheffield with Biomedical Science (whether that be with a masters, or a year in the industry, or just the 3 year degree) is welcome to join and chat!

A little bit about me:

Of course, I have an offer from Sheffield (with masters). I've already completed my A-levels and achieved AAB, and I'm also on the waiting list for medicine at Sheffield. I got 2850 Band 2 for the UCAT! I had 3 interviews and 2 rejections, and 1 waiting list. I'm on a gap year working as a nursing assistant (full-time) and in my spare I work as a waitress and also run my own radio programme about science! If I don't get the place for medicine, I am hoping to do graduate entry medicine. Having taken a look at the Sheffield course, I'm low-key excited about biomed, so I really wouldn't mind doing graduate entry. The course looks awesome! And I fell into the trap of thinking it was accredited when it wasn't, but that doesn't change my decision. I've applied to IQ Steel accommodation and I don't see many reviews for it so I'm also hoping that someone will be able to say what it's like. I've read some reviews in London that talk about many infestations and poor IQ service, so I'm hoping it's not like that in Sheffield!

Do share a little bit about yourself and ask away )

Well done guys!!!

Hey,
Sounds like a great idea to start a thread! I hope some more people find it!
My friend has just started Grad-entry med after doing her biomed degree at Sheffield, and she loved her degree here too.
I wish you the best of luck!
Evie (final year medic at UoS)

Amazing! What does the year in industry roughly look like? I haven't explored that yet but it sounds very interesting. And are you looking to have the accommodation with the uni, or elsewhere?

from what I've heard the year in industry can look very different as there are many different possible placements (some more clinically based some less). I'm looking to book uni accommodation in endcliffe but don't know whether I'm going to choose en suite or shared (it's so expensive!)

That's great to hear that you've firmed Sheffield! Do let me know if there's any questions about Sheffield or uni in general that I can answer for you
