SFE payment for 5th year medicine

I am an incoming 5th year medical student who is applying to both the NHS bursary and student finance.

I currently have received the reduced rate from student finance of £2146 for next school year. I normally receive the max loan due to further assessment of household income.

I understand that due to my eligibility of the NHS bursary and being in 5th year that I won't receive the same amount as I did in the past 4 years but I was wondering if the value for this coming year (£2146) would increase following an household income assessment like previously or if this is all I can get from SFE. Thank you.

Hi there,

All students in 5th year of medicine are only eligible for a Reduced Maintenance Loan from us.We won't use household income as its a set amount for this year.

Thanks,
Claire
