Hi @pippaem congrats on getting a place to study here!
In terms of accomodation, you really have 2 main choices for studying at the falmer campus.

Falmer Halls - This includes Paddock Field and Great Wilkins. Depending on which degree your doing you may have a longer course (ie nursing or midwifery) then you will need to stay at Great Wilkins as Paddock Fields contracts are shorter than your term time. Falmer halls are the cheapest ensuite options we offer and are inside the falmer campus, so as close as you can be to where you will be studying.

Varley park halls - These contain the cheapest option of a standard single bed shared bathroom. They are also a 10 min bus ride away (on the 5b that comes every half hour) from falmer campus.

I would recommend, if you haven't already, looking at the virtual tours on the pages I linked they're a good way to get a feel for the accoms if you can't go to an open or applicant day

I would also try and see if any of our Unibuddy Ambassadors have stayed at paddock or join our Unibuddy Community to be able to ask questions and find other students!

I hope this helps you!
If you have any more questions feel free to ask

What course are you up to study?! I’ve also got into Brighton and I’m also trying to figure out whether I will move in or stay home!

I started my first year at Brighton in 2022, I studied at Falmer and also chose Paddock Fields halls. The halls are decent, and I think the cheapest accom Brighton has. I enjoyed my time there, and are ideal if you study at Falmer too.

Paddock field halls are basic, but do the job, I didnt have any nasty experiences however I do know of people who had mould growing in their rooms. The rooms also come with onsuite which is a bonus, because you dont know who you might have to share a toilet or shower with!

The only annoying thing is its about a 30 minute bus ride into Brighton city centre, Falmer train station is in close walking distance. This can be a bit of a pain when it comes to food shopping as there are not any local shops nearby.

Paddock field is cheaper for a reason and isnt as nice as other accomodations, but it isnt necessarily 'bad'
