Help! Affordable Accommodation needed in Aberdeen

Hello everyone, I am an intending student at the university of Aberdeen from Africa.

Hoping to resume my postgrad studies in September 2025.

Could someone provide best advise for sourcing affordable and safe accommodation close to the university especially for a female foreigner.

Other advise on living generally will be much appreciated.

Hi, this is the University of Aberdeen rep account. Thanks very much for posting and my apologies for not replying to this until now! I hope you've been able to find some accommodation options but I can try to provide some advice.

The university itself offers accommodation at our Hillhead Student Village. While not on campus it is only about a 10-15 minute walk away and is connected by a bus service. You can find out more here: https://www.abdn.ac.uk/accommodation/
We do have a 24 hour reception and security at Hillhead if safety is a concern for you, and I can assure you that the university is always here to reach out to if you have any safety concerns during your studies. I can't provide may details on other options but there are companies such as the Student Roost and Unite Students that it may be worth looking into for their price options.
