Do you meet the criteria for the summer consideration pool?

If not there's no chance.

I don't know if this will help. My brother had 7 A levels which in today's grading would all have been A*s and he was rejected by Cambridge.

They fill places using summer consideration - there's no other way. I'm being truthful and don't want you to have false hope.

You'll need to take a gap year and reapply if you really want a place.

Presumably your backup option is to reapply for 2026? In which case annoying admissions staff isn’t a brilliant idea.

That is why they interview everyone. They decide who they want at interview.

Because they, like many of us on here, know how Cambridge admissions work. There is absolutely no chance whatsoever of them reconsidering post results, unless you have already been invited to the ARP.

Regardless Cambridge have made it clear that you don’t have the sort of ability and attitude that they’re looking for.

Pestering them is just wasting your time and theirs and likely to make them even more confident that they made the right decision because you think that you know better than they do the sort of person who thrives in their environment.

PQ i understand what you are saying but quite frankly 'you don’t have the sort of ability and attitudethat they’re looking for' is down right nasty. this is meant to be a supportive forum and informative, not one to bring others down. please do not talk on this forum any longer. thank you.

The point is that if you do this you’re making it clear that you aren’t suited to tutorial type teaching because you aren’t willing to accept decisions from Cambridge academic staff.
For anyone who wants a “second shot” at a university in august following a rejection

Step 1 is to get feedback on the reasons for rejection. If the university doesn’t give detailed feedback on the reason then submit a subject access request specifying that it should include interview notes and scoring of your application.

If the feedback states that you were rejected based on your predicted grades and you exceed those predictions then ring in August.

If the feedback states that your rejection was for other reasons then unless you can provide concrete proof that those reasons are no longer valid in August (for example by submitting a new portfolio with substantially more work for a creative degree) then it’s time to move on and focus your efforts elsewhere.

You got the answer to your question, it may not be the answer you would have liked to hear but it is ultimately the answer.

PQ’s reply was both supportive and informative.

Would you have preferred that they lied to you about your options?

Being an ethnic minority is not a criteria for the ARP. If you weren't invited for reconsideration, it's because you're not eligible for it.
