OCR Computer Science GCSE Help

Hello,

So Computer Science Paper 1 is my second GCSE exam and we've had a really terrible pack of teachers over Year 10 and 11, who aren't qualified to teach.

I feel pretty confident about paper 2, but my Paper 1 skills are lacking and I was wondering if anyone had some last minute resources to learn the content before the exam

I would try Craig 'n' Dave videos (https://www.youtube.com/@craigndave/playlists) - find the videos made for OCR.

If you prefer reading instead of listening/watching then either Isaac Computer Science (https://isaaccomputerscience.org/) or Ada (https://adacomputerscience.org/) - again, make sure to use resources for OCR GCSE (you should be able to select it if you sign up).

Definitely have a look at the specification so you know exactly what you need to learn (https://www.ocr.org.uk/Images/558027-specification-gcse-computer-science-j277.pdf).

If you have time, it would be great to test yourself using the past papers on the ocr website (https://www.ocr.org.uk/qualifications/gcse/computer-science-j277-from-2020/assessment/) and mark them afterwards.

Good luck!

Hi, I also do OCR comp science, and I find Craig and Dave videos really useful to learn content I don't understand, as they explain it very simply.
You can also use this website called CSnewbs to use for notes, they cover pretty much each and every spec point with no unecessary info.
here are the links for the websites:

https://www.youtube.com/@craigndave
hope this helped!
