hey, i'm kinda a boomer on this website lol, i don't really log on much but i found people doing a gyg and thought it'd be fun to do one! idk if im too late tho :hmmmm:

about me:

. ⁺ . . ⁺ .

my subjects and predicted grades:

. ⁺ . . ⁺ .

i have already completed one of my gcses as an extra last year, arabic (eduqas) with an 8!!
i am hoping for all 8/9s but i have not been keeping on top of my revision
i've finished all my science content and geography paper 1 and 2 content, (most of) my english essay plans for the texts and poetry, maths papers/corbett maths 5 a day at least once every day, and i am extremely worried for computer science because we've had no consistent good teacher for the past 2 years. we also don't actually do the content in design and technology so i've tried to learn it myself, which is not going well

. ⁺ . . ⁺ .

my updates will consist of what i've done that day and what i planned (and what i procrastinated) and try and add some study buddy stats if i remember!!

i wish everyone good luck in their exams!! :popout:

Aerospace engineering sounds like a great goal! @totesnotgrace is applying to engineering so might be able to give you some tips.
Whats your favourite subject? What are you planning to study next year?
Best of luck with all your revision and exams :yeah:

physics maths and further maths are three of mine! though my fourth is english....woops!
if you have any questions on FM or Maths as I study both side-by -side don't hesitate! People don't often believe how different they are, and at times I definitely prefer FM

haha hope you're enjoying them!!
how generally is the experience with 4 subjects? a lot of people have said that it's stressful and they'd recommend me dropping psychology in year 12 or doing an as-level of it instead so it wouldn't burden me

day 1: (yesterday) saturday 19th april 2025
days till exams start: 23 days :eek4:

so did i do a lot yesterday? no, but positive mindset guys!! :blow:
i ended up finishing a computer science paper 1 in the morning and that went horrendous, so i decided to go study it for most of the day. i got a couple of topics revised by making a giant mindmap of everything, which i recently found out works for me great as i've been using it for geography too. i got topics 1-3 done in the morning then 4-6 in the afternoon. not in a lot of detail but my mind remembers the details well and not the basics
i got distracted by doomscrolling for a bit and then went back on the grind and did 2 maths paper 1s, one in which i got 89% (2/3 marks away from a 9) and one i got 91% which is barely a 9, i'm good at maths but i just need to push those extra marks to secure a 9 in the subject
i'm disappointed i didn't finish my english literature essay plans, but i will hopefully do those today (sunday)! we go back to school on tuesday and i have 2/3 more essay plans to go! i'm praying for lord capulet or tybalt in the romeo and juliet question

anyway have a great day! update in the evening for when i finish with today's revision

I've found it challenging but rewarding. However better speaking to someone who took psych as it had a much heavier workload than english as far as i know

day 2: sunday 20th april 2025
days till exams start: 22 days :eek4:

happy easter everyone! hope you're doing well <3

so today was so productive for once! woke up and started work at around 10am, a bit later than i usually do but i was tired so had an extra hour of sleep :bored:

i did 2 maths paper 1s, which went extremely well, 9s in all! i think i'm going to start predicted papers at some point (for edexcel rather than aqa) but so far it's going really well, since paper 1 is always my weak point.

design and technology was something i have been procrastinating for the entire easter holiday, so i forced myself to do that today, and did one of the papers i have with me. dt is a weak point especially as in our curriculum, we have to learn the content ourselves since our teacher talks us through a mock NEA in year 10 and the real thing in year 11 (which i should be getting my result for soon!). i went through a paper (i think june 2023) and used the markscheme to see what the examiners were looking for, kinda like a walking-talking mock but by myself LOL, and then made flashcards on the questions i wasn't sure on, as a lot of the questions are repeated every year.

i then made a start on my english literature missing essay plans, i finished my inspector calls responsibility and different generations plan, and for romeo and juliet, i finished my conflict and parent-child relationship ones.

i took a little break and went to the gym  for about an hour and a half, grabbed some snacks then headed back home with spirits and productivity lifted!! then i sat down and got another math paper done because i haven't done a lot of practice recently!

took another break by gaming (if anyone here games, hmi, i'd love to talk about anything you play! plus recommendations :groovy:) then finished a biology paper 1 (2020). was chill since i felt pretty prepared, just needed to be able to apply my knowledge enough and properly :boxing:

anyway today was so productive!! i have my maths and further maths tutoring now so thank yall for the support and encouragement, i genuinely believe this has helped me stop procrastinating, yapping about my interests and my studying helps me start to lock in

stay safe everyone!!

day 3: monday 21st april
days till exams: 21 days :eek4: (3 week mark)

not as productive as yesterday sadly but got quite a bit of stuff done!

i did a bio paper one (2021) which i actually learnt a lot from, like i need to revise the food tests :bebored:

i did another maths paper which went smoothly then had to go shower and wasted like 2 hours because i take my time in there LOL

i then did a computer science paper and literally forgot everything :flute: but we're learning! ish!!

i tried to finish the mindmap i wanted to start on the fieldwork we did in geography but got distracted by brooklyn 99 so i watched that instead and got half of the mindmap done, and then i had a further maths tutoring session in which we went through a paper which went really well!! i'm not worried about it since i kinda don't care :hoppy: but i'm going to try my best and see how it goes

then i did another bio paper quick runthrough, one i've already marked and then did a tiny bit of further maths domains and ranges. i now get it so there's one stepping stone complete :jiggy:

lastly, i finished my english language paper 1 plan which just goes over what each question wants and how i write about it since it's pretty hard to prep for. i'm not the type to do english papers so :sigh:

okay i should probably go sleep since it is 23:59 right now but i wish everyone a nice evening/morning!!

day 4/5/6/7: 22nd - 25th april
days till exams: 17 :eek4: (time went so fast what??)

okay so i'm back, i have been very busy with school but here's the updates for each day!! :clap2:

tuesday
first day back after half term and was a somewhat chill day, i did a bio paper 1, a chem paper 1 and revised my geography case studies because i tend to forget all my stats. i also used smart revise, which is a computer science website that my school pays for, for the first time in a year to start doing quick fire multiple choice questions, which helped A LOT, then early sleep :flute: i usually stay up so an early sleep at around 8pm was good!

wednesday
got back on the grind again and did another chem and bio paper, and starting to get annoyed by the repeating questions, meaning i think it's going well? :flip: i also went over the computer science p1 content, specifically the stuff i have trouble remembering and it helped me a lot when doing my smart revise for the day again. i then looked over my english literature plans and then left it for the day

thursday
i started revising further maths content again, it is some of my last exams but i want to make sure i don't have any gaps in my knowledge. i did a paper and it went extremely well (90%), but i'm honestly not really bothered in what i get in further maths :juggle: i revised p1 computer science content again, did 30 minutes of smart revise then back to english literature revision, i just keep going over my plans to try get quotes to stick in my head, and a good amount of analysis. i also did a physics paper 1, but more mentally, i didn't write it because i was too tired but just said the answer out loud and checked the markscheme which is better than not doing it :macarena:

friday (yesterday)
we had a paper day at school meaning we finish a paper and mark it for homework, so i finished that in the lesson so i just have to mark it  i got home and did a geography paper, for once, which i have never done in the past 2 years of studying it, but i was worried for my paper 1. i did the paper and realised that the only problem i actually had was remembering the case studies, so i'm going to try spend some of my weekend learning them well. i highlighted/underlined things i had to check my book for and tell my teacher that when i hand it in for her to mark! i also did some smart revise but then chilled for the rest of the day because it was friday :pepsi:

update this evening for today's studying! stay safe everyone
