Could someone clarify ( MBBS with Foundation at UCLAN) if students after entering into first year of MBBS,do they continue at Westlake campus or move to Preston campus?

Also is MBBS entry guaranteed in MBBS with foundation?

Hi @Chith222,

Thank you for your message and patience. Currently, during Years 1 and 2, you will be taught by expert practitioners in our state-of-the-art clinical skills laboratories based at the Preston Campus. In both years you will have community and General Practice placements and you will also have a secondary care placement during Year 2.

For Years 3, 4 and 5 you will need to relocate from our Preston Campus. Instead you will be based close to one of our other UK-based campuses in Burnley (East Lancashire) or Westlakes (Cumbria) and attend placements in the surrounding area. Whilst we try to take your preference into consideration, your destination may be allocated by the School.

If you are studying on the MBBS with Foundation Year (Year 0), the progression requirements to Year 1 are listed below:

•

Average percentage mark (APM): 75%. Note that APM is calculated using only the science and maths modules (XYC001, XYC002 and XYC003).

•

A minimum score of 70% in the biological and chemical systems module (XYC001)

•

A minimum of 70% in the body systems module (XYC002).

•

A minimum score of 60% in XY1006.

•

A minimum score of 65% in EF1503.

•

A minimum score of 65% in EF1337.
