Mature student and single parent already with HND.

I have just recently become a single parent and to enable me to make the future of myself and my son a little more positive I am looking at doing mental health nursing degree in in Wales. My questions are 1, Can I study for this degree if I already have a HND im a different subject. 2, Will I be able to get funding ie maintenance loan, exceptional hardship grant or any other funding 3, what are my chances of these being accepted if I am in my late 40's and finally 5, Can I get funding for an access course prior to the actual degree? .
