Mature Student starting Vet Med Accomodation

Hi everyone!

I’m a 24-year-old starting Vet Med at Bristol this September and looking into accommodation options. The university offers places in their halls and allows you to select a preference for mature student housing, but I understand there’s no guarantee who you’ll end up living with.

I’m open to living with a mix of people, but I’ve already been through uni once and done the whole “living with 20 18-year-olds in small flats and going out every night” thing — so I’m hoping for a slightly more chilled living situation this time around.

I was wondering what others in a similar situation usually do — is it best to accept whatever the university offers, or would it make more sense to look for private accommodation in the city? Also, if anyone else is in a similar boat and would be up for finding a place together, I’d love to chat!
