Is it possible to get a good grade in maths without a tuition teacher?

Im generally quite weak at maths( doing igcse this year) but need ur opinion on whether i can depend on myself and youtube to go through the topics and get to a level six

I don't think you need a tutor for maths. To revise maths all you need to do is past papers everyday. If you get something wrong try to understand what went wrong using the mark scheme and Youtube videos are good for understanding new content.

hello, hope you're doing well!! :wavey:

you don't need to have a tutor don't worry! i think just do questions and papers every day to try to improve, as that's how i managed to bump up 2/3 grades in maths!

good luck

Use Maths Genie, and Corbett Maths, as well as the CGP textbook & workbook, and lots of past papers.

Hi there!

One of my friends got into Cambridge university - 9 in maths - no extra tuition. It is 100% possible! Practice using past papers - that was her main method of revising. There are plenty of past papers available with the mark scheme. With maths, the focus is primarily on application. You can be taught, for example, simultaneous equations, and how to solve for X and Y. You can only really get comfortable with this topic through practice. So my main piece of advise - practice practice practice!

kind regards, Jenifer (Kingston rep)

hello 😊 how long did that take you? I got a 4 last year, but since universities ask for a 6 in my desired course, I decided to retake it alongside a levels. I had A level mocks recently, so I only started studying for maths very recently. I have been using PMT and I just go through the questions on there, going up my grade.
