Oxford University Law

Hi All

Just looking for some advice about realistic chances of gaining an interview this December to study Law at Oxford.

Of course predicted A Level grades are important, that's a given, but my burning question is... what about the actual subjects you are studying at A Level? Surely the type of subject matters when applying for Law?

Oxford prefer for you not to have studied A-Level Law and instead to have studied essay based facillitating subjects, eg. history, literature but your interview skills and statement probably matter most

Thank you for that. Unfortunately, I am studying A Level Law ! I wanted to make sure I actually enjoyed studying it before committing, bearing in mind GCSE Law doesn't exist... tbf there is a decent amount of structured essay writing in the course...
Thankfully also doing English Literature and History !

Past successful applicants have had Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology or even Maths, Further Maths, Physics and History and even English Literature, History and Spanish or French. As long as your subjects are 'academic' then you should not worry. 🙂
