Hey all,
I am lucky to have both offers for Graphic and Media Design (LCC) and Graphic Communication Design (Chelsea). I was hoping I would decide by the time I got offers, but I have no idea where I want to go.
Overall, I was confused with all the graphic design courses at UAL because they have them at LCC, Chelsea, CSM and Camberwell. It all looks similar.
From what I heard, LCC has to be one of the most "prestigious" for graphics; their program is said to be established and long-running. But I liked the works of students that are at Chelsea. Also, I looked at the course's Instagram pages. Chelsea seems more appealing and active, and some of their students have won the D&AD award. On the other hand, the stats on discoveruni.gov.uk for LCC's course are noticeably stronger. What’s interesting is that LCC's course is bigger, so you’d expect more mixed reviews just due to the larger number of students and opinions. But despite that, it still scores higher, which kind of says a lot about the consistency and quality of the course.
I’ll be attending an offer holder day at LCC soon, which I hope will help me make a more confident decision. I just want to be sure I’m making the best choice for me.
Has anyone else had to decide between these UAL graphics courses? I’d love to hear what helped you choose, or your experience if you’ve studied at Chelsea or LCC.
