Hi
I'm considering applying to Oxford under E&M(Economics&Management), next year. But, I am concerned with the level of detail I need specifically to cater my admission to this course.
That is because I am planning to apply to Marketing for my other 4 options, and I feel that my personal statement may be viewed as confused by Oxford, if it's not entirely relating to E&M however, I want to do marketing in the future. I enjoy rigorous academic structure which can't really be obtained in business courses but, I would also only want to study a course like E&M, if it was at Oxford. Due to this, I'm struggling to determine whether it would be worthwhile for me to consider applying, given my current ideas.
Marketing and E&M have very close ties, in the way that they operate around business decisions, and economies in general, and I find that it would be more useful for me to actually study a more broadly related subject like E&M than trying to study Marketing as a degree, which would have rigidity in the content covered, which would be incompatible with the actual practical aspect of Marketing, which requires more adaptation. Hence, learning from a broader view about businesses and the economy would likely be a lot more beneficial for me, not to mention, I have a deep interest in the topic, and have done a competition, as well as academic reading on the topic.
If anyone has applied similarily to Oxbridge through something similar, then please let me know!
