The Student Room Group

Why do I feel guilty/ bad?

So last week I went to the Netherlands with a group of student from my course for a uni trip. Long story short, I went out with a small group to enjoy the night and grab some drinks. It was fun and I talked and laughed with this girl and I felt like we just clicked although we never talked before. I then asked her if she was willing to join me later at night, bear in mind I had a few drinks and I would never say such a thing when sober as I don't have the confidence. But she was way sober then I was, and seemed to be into me and like we knew each other for a while. So we went back with the others to the hotel we are staying at and I asked her if she really wants to join me and she said she'll go to her room and she'll meet me in my room in a while.
So we each went to our rooms and I remember laying in my bed and I just slept. The next morning I woke up and saw all the messages from her and how she came to my room but I was fast asleep.
I did see her the next morning and I told her I was tired the night before and that I feel asleep.
She seemed normal, but deep inside me I feel guilty and like I betrayed her and I am a person who usually keeps my promise.
So for the past few days I have been thinking over it and want to message her and see if she is still willing to meet me.
But I don't know how she might react and whether it's the right thing to do.
So any advice would be appreciated. thanks and sorry for the full length story, I tried to keep it low

I think you should message her. Feeling guilty for that is valid, but at the same time you didn't do anything wrong - nobody can help falling asleep and like you said you'd had a few drinks so it's totally understandable. You said she seemed normal and this is a good sign, even if she was a bit distant it may not have been to do with you. Best of luck and shoot your shot! You got this!

But in the time being I am not looking for a relationship. She also said to me when we were out that night that she also isn't looking for one. But I am afraid she might not feel the same right know if you know what I mean.

Appreciate the advice. Like it's the first time that I am in such a situation. But I'll try and message her and see what she says

Good luck you totally got this! Even if you're not looking for a relationship like you said it's good to be on the same page with her especially if you guys are interested in each other.

It’s absolutely fine, it’s never a good idea to rush in to things when you’re drunk. See if you can pick thinks up, there’s no guarantees, but if you do it could be good

Go for it. Nothing to loose. Better regret something you have done rather than what ifs. Don’t end up like me wooing too many missed opportunities thro fear of rejection. You got this and treat yourself after you attempted make contact
