Hey! It’s definitely possible to aim for 8s and 9s, especially since you're already doing really well in some subjects like Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. The key is to focus on the areas where you're a bit off your target grade and use your time wisely to improve.
Here’s what you can do:

1.

German: Focus on practicing speaking and writing more to boost your fluency and accuracy, which will help you push up to an 8.

2.

History: Focus on memorizing key events and refining your exam technique. Past papers and timed essays are great ways to improve.

3.

Maths: Work on practice papers to strengthen areas you're less confident in, and review any mistakes to understand where you can improve.

4.

English Language & Literature: Keep practicing writing essays, especially under timed conditions. Focus on key themes and quotes for Literature, and work on improving your writing skills for Language.

5.

R.E.: Focus on exam techniques—practice answering structured questions and reviewing key themes and arguments in your syllabus.

With consistent effort, it’s absolutely achievable to boost your grades in these areas. You've got this!

Yes, of course. Basically just learn all the content and then practise as much as you can using past paper questions.
Consider learning the mark scheme, as many do this to get A*s at A-level, but it might be over the top for gcse.
Best of luck!

Hi there!

You most definitely are capable of getting 8's and 9's.
I did triple science, spanish, history and RS for my GCSEs on top of the core subjects. For maths - practice questions are best. The CGP textbooks (practice books specifically) are useful. Any textbook that provides answers and focuses specifically on grade 7-9 are very useful at this stage.
For english language, when I did my GCSEs (2018 ), the best way to revise was through practicing your essay writing with past papers, as you cannot predict what the paper will ask. Make sure you can identify literary techniques and can write good quality plans for each essay question. I believe the exam is 3 hours with 3 questions? 45 minute to write each essay with 15 minutes to plan it is the approach (double check this - I may be wrong!). You can apply this to english literature, however, it is good to memorise quotes as you may not get given a clean copy of the text in your exam. It is also good to memorise analysis of these quotes that can be applied to different themes. Finally for history, memorising key events and dates is very useful. As an essay based subject, ensuring you can structure your essay and improving your essay writing will help you access higher marks. Overall, for essay based subjects, you should look at ensuring you can write good quality timed essays, especially so close to your exams.

Hope this helps! let me know if you have any specific questions and good luck!
