what should i do last minute for french speaking exam???

i literally have my french speaking exam in 4 days and i am positively freaking out since despite being a capable french student, i struggle to memorize my prepared answers , and im constantly blanking. im sure in the exam i could come up with something passable on the spot, but does anyone have any tips for maxmizing the amount of answers i can cram into my head before my exam?
also! im a very nervous speaker and i tend to stumble over my words when i try to get them out quickly. is it fine if i slow down to talk, or is it alright to stumble a bit?
thank you so much, any and all advice would be appreciated!

Hi @meowmeowkat

First off—totally normal to feel nervous before a speaking exam! The examiners don’t expect perfect fluency, so a few stumbles or pauses are absolutely okay, as long as you're communicating your ideas clearly. Speaking slowly and calmly is a good thing—it helps you stay in control and gives your brain time to catch up.

When it comes to memorising answers, What helped me was using Q&A flashcards to practise common questions and answers. Repeating them out loud, recording myself, or even turning tricky phrases into a silly tune/song helped a lot with retention.

And remember: if you blank, it’s okay! Try to rephrase, link to a topic you do remember, or use filler phrases to buy yourself a moment (ask the examiner to Vous pouvez répéter)

You’ve got this—best of luck with your French speaking exam! 🙂
