How to decide which university to prioritise?

Most of the universities I’m interested in have similar entry requirements, and I’m having trouble as to which uni to put as my first choice when they’re all in fairly similar cities and have similar rankings. I’ll most likely study psychology and nightlife/ student experience is a big factor for me. Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated.

You haven't said which unis you're considering, but Newcastle, Sheffield and Leeds all have great nightlife. Sheffield and Newcastle score highly for student experience.

If you are yet to apply, you dont have to list your choices with any sense of 'preference' and you don't have to choose 'a Firm choice' until you actually have offers.

At this stage you just need to be narrowing down to 5 choices with a range of grade requirements to give yourself the best chance of realistic offers and a sensible Insurance choice. And then go to Open Days and listen to the course presentations to get an idea of what makes each course different before you make your final 5 choices.

The usual advice is :

1 choice just above your predicted grades - risky but you may get an offer.

2 or 3 choices at your predicted grades - your most likely offers but nothing is guaranteed.

At least 1 choice well below your predicted grades - potential Insurance choice or for when you get cold-feet about your grades mid-next year.
