Student Finance 2025/26

Hello,

My son has had his student finance application approved for the first year of his undergraduate degree and has received a confirmation letter. On logging into his account, while his account says “Application Status: Approved”, he noticed the following text at the top of the page:

“To make sure you have student finance agreed before the start of your full-time undergraduate course reapply now.”

Does this need to be actioned? It seems odd on an approved application. There is nothing showing as pending or incomplete anywhere on the account.

Are you 100% certain that he applied for funding for 2025/26 and not 2024/25. Applications for both years are open at the moment.

Definitely 2025/26.

Hi Lozzaks,

It could be an overlap as that sounds like the automatic email that is sent. Can you confirm if he can see the 24/25 application when he logs into his online account?

Hi, there is nothing on his application that says 2024/25 on his account. His account only refers to 2025/26 which is his first year of undergraduate, and his is first application for finance.
His account summary and confirmation letter both state 2025/26 with course running from Sep 25-July 28.

Hi Lozzaks,

Are you referring to the banner at the top of the page when you first login? If so this is on all accounts as a reminder to apply, as he has applied and received the entitlement letter, he can ignore any notifications that pop up to apply.
