BAE Reserve List 2025

Anyone else been placed on a reserve list for a BAE SYSTEMS 2025 graduate role. Then 2 months later be sent an email suggesting that you will be moved on to the next available intake in 2026 if no position become available this year.

Just wondering if anyone else received a similar email.

Hi did they say that by moving to the next intake you would be offered a role? Or would you need to re-interview?

The exact wording I received in the email was If no openings arise by that time, we will reach out to discuss future intakes. You will not need to reapply, as we will simply move you to the next available intake based on our discussions.”

It’s a-bit vague and doesn’t clearly if I need to re-interview.

Hey, I also received that email a couple of weeks ago. I’m also not sure what it means exactly. Are you also going through the security vetting process just now? I was told I’d be able to ask some questions on next steps at the right to work call but still in the process of scheduling it

I’m received this email as well, I think it’s generic. I am also going through the vetting process and have my right to work this week. I ideally just want to know the chances of getting an offer if you’re on the reserve list, I’ve seen it’s quite common for apprenticeships but there’s little information for the grad programmes

Hi have you had your call yet? Did they provide any information on how it works with being moved to the next intake?

Yeah I had it this week. She said it depended on whether they increase the number of grads they take on in September or not (I should’ve asked when that decision will be made but I didn’t). If they decide to take on more there’s no need to re interview and you’ll get offered a position. Same happens for the January intake but again no guarantee they will have grad intakes then, depends on the businesses needs at the time etc. If they decide not to take on any more for the role initially applied for they’ll reach out to discuss other schemes or different locations but again nothing is guaranteed (I also should’ve asked if there are no positions in Jan can you get moved onto Sep 26 intake). Is this similar to what she said to you?

Yeah pretty much the same. The reason im wondering is because the January applications last year opened on the 2nd May, so I would assume they are going to be opening soon. This also means they open the January intake before they do our "4 week before you start" review, so not sure how that works.

I was told the same thing. However I may have to re-interview for January if they offer a different position then the one I originally applied to. As for September 2026 you will have to 100% reinterview regardless of the position.

If it is the same position that they open, do you automatically get offered a place? Or do you get moved to the reserve list for January?

They said if the same position I originally applied for opens up for a role in January 2026 then I will get an offer. If no positions open up for the jan 2026 intake then I will have to reapply and start the process again.

Does anyone not get put on the reserve list? And does anyone not get told they performed extremely well?

Just trying to gauge the likelihood of getting off the reserve list haha

Yes they do reject people and not put them on the reserve list after the final interview. Where are you on the reserve list for?

Haven’t herd anything back yet. However just saw on the website they got roles for 2026. However non of the roles are the same as the one I applied for initially.

Ah ok, for me there's systems engineering roles which is what I applied for, but I think they have me down as only wanting to work at a single location. Do you think if I call up tomorrow for a different location I have much chance of getting it if I ask?

I just had another look at the new positions. I must have overlooked it by mistake but I found the role I initially applied for. Looks like they got it for April 2026 start date and it’s at a different location 4 hours away. I did put in my application open to relocating.

You put in a new application? Wouldn't they have offered you this one though considering youre on the reserve list?

I didn’t put in a new application. When I spoke to a member of staff during the right to work interview a few weeks back. They said I will automatically be offered a position if it’s the same location and before jan 2026 start date.
