physics question

hi, please could I have help with question 8c? The answer is helical but I thought there is no force in the horizontal direction as it says in part b?

there is no horizontal force so in horizontal direction the object has constant velocity (newton 2nd law). but there is initial horrizontal component of velocity and this component is unchanged during its motion. The object does circular motion in vertial and constant velocity in horizontal so it should be a helix.
