probably some topic 3 because there was none of that in paper 1

Yeahhh I feel like they're going to go in on ecosystems/classification/genetic diversity. Obvi that's a bit broad but that's the vibe I get.
Also gene linkage

Edit: For Topic 9, I don't remember the last time stuff on the eye came up, so I think that light detection might come up and potentially temperature regulation

what do u think they’d ask about gene linkage cause all i know is when u inherit them together and the closer they are the less likely they’ll be separated , is that more to it ?!!

Who knows honestly, they could give us info about a certain species and an inherited characteristic, then proceed to ask a wacky application question (hopefully not) or they could ask is to explain why those characteristics are inherited together (describing autosomal gene linkage). Honestly I'm still revising that topic but I'd say check out the flashcards on PMT for that topic because they tend to include all the relevant info and then look at the questions related to gene linkage to get an idea.

That's the thing about Bio, you can never really predict the type of question they're going to ask, only the topic😭

DISCLAIMER: Please do revise everything that you can though, I'm only saying this is what I feel could come up, I could be totally wrong so don't hinge your revision on my personal predictions

okay thank u -yes the PMT flashcards are good - biology is so annoying cause u can literally think ur good and then they ask a question and ur like how is this even included

Any predictions from anyone???? What topics are likely???

Last year these topics came:
Root tip cell
Embryo plant formation
Plant hormones
Punnett diagrams
Lipids
Alveoli adaptation
Forest fires -9 marker
Index of biodiversity
Haemoglobin dissociation curves
Osmoregulation
Action potential-myelin sheath
How inhibitory post synaptic potential occur
Toxins-paralysis
Gene pool
Hardy Weinberg
Zoos as centres for conservation

These topics werent covered in p1
For Paper 2 (al of these could be on p3 instead)
Topic 1 bc paper 1 only really had the differences betw ssDNA and RNA
Topic 3
Cell cycle
Sexual reproduction in plants and animals (not much on this apart from TS i guess)
Circulation, haemoglobin, tissue fluid
Plant transport
Prokaryotes & Eukaryotes
Then ofc topicss 8-10

Only Paper 3
Respiration
I think there could be more on pathogens/ Antibiotics etc and Immune response
Might be more on modern genetics too

But do revise everything! maybe not gas exchange and photosynthesis lol

do we need to know about nitrogen/carbon cycle

do we need to know about nitrogen/carbon cycle

The spec says that we need to "understand the significance of microorganisms in the recycling of nutrients within an ecosystem" so I think yes? I'm not sure in how much detail though outside of knowing about decomposers, ammonium compounds, nitrifying bacteria, de-nitrifying bacteria and nitrogen fixing bacteria.

Here's some PMT flashcards on the topic (that should cover it):

Hye guys does anyone know what statistical tests we might actually have to do in the paper? Is it just the biodiversity index, chi squared and spearman's rank?

does anyone know what mathzzyy questions to prepare for this paper? ngl my paper 1 went really bad, even had an exam yesterday and one tmrw..if i wont pull my grades in tmrws paper them am deffo gonna fail as i got my comp sci paper 2 and bio paper 3 on the same day😭
