Does anyone have a list of modifications of laboratory procedures that they commonly ask about? Like stuff like you wash crystals to remove impurities etc

lowkey thinking they'll stay roughly the same. confident an A* will be around 84-88% whilst an A will be somewhere between 72-76% if paper 3 is average difficulty looking at past increases in boundaries. i don't think we'll see such a large jump in grade boundaries as we saw from 2023 to 2024, that jump was only due to Ofqual officially reverting to complete pre-pandemic standards.

the paper 2 was much harder than any other year tho, especially last years. surely itll go down to around 205 for an A

also an A has never been near to 76% i really doubt theyd go that far or even go up at all this year

Anyone got a list of topics that came up last 2 papers and which ones they think gonna come up on friday. What came up from what I remember:
Ionisation energy
atomic structure + definitions
Intermolecular forces
Bond fission
stereoisomerism
Mass spec
Enthalpy change + indirect hess
Kinetics - Ea and mechanisms
Kp, Entropy - delta G, a little bit on Electrochemistry
Reactions of transition metals + colours + catalysts
Tests for carbonyls + COOH
Evidence for Benzene, Phenyle amine

Grignard synthesis might come up, also recrystallisation maybe

The papers were harder this year in my opinion especially the paper two I did the 2024 papers and the grade boundaries were higher bc the papers were relatively easy so I guess it depends how everyone found it ?

All of them mate 😁 look at the mark schemes of all the paper 3's and for all the repeating 6 marker questions on practicals and memorise them, it'll do you a whole lot of good.

Reply 18

By the way, does paper 3 repeat questions from previous years' Paper 3's a lot?
