Surely if u put d then it would bind to the phenol so a is right

D is correct, it can only create ester links with acyl chloride not normal carboxylic acids

guys for the mcq where it asked which monomers made the ester, was it A or D i couldn’t decide why it wouldn’t be either of them

It should be D because phenols and carboxylate acid wouldn’t react unless with like H2SO4 catalyst but it can easily react with acyl chlorides spontaneously

l was butan-2-ol, whichever was 4 peaks was but-1-ene & 2 peaks was but-2-ene
