What was the nmr structure, I got phenyl propanoate but some getting ethyl benzoate

i got ethyl benzoate, pretty sure there was a triplet or something at HC-O and i had like ch3-ch2-o as a fragment?

When you increase the mass of the solute, you are essentially adding more solute molecules that need to be dissolved. This means the solution will absorb more energy from the surroundings, so final temp will be lower, so temp change is higher. dividing by a larger number (larger temp change) reduces the % uncertainty, search it up

hoping mean works too, i read it in the textbook and my reasoning was taking multiple recordings would converge to a more accurate result and allow you to point out anomalies

Yeah 4 marker +24.something to 3sf

it's to 2 s f because it said appropriate s.f and the method had recordings as to 2. s.f (this is why i hate chem and will always favour maths)

Yeah maths is clear but fr? I thought the Lowest sf was temperature which was 3sf but I guess I didn’t scan the values properly lol. Only 1 mark lost I guess

Wait I thought there is no peak between 2-3 and after 10 so I couldn't be an ester/ c.a?😭

Reply 85

I put phenol because of that lmfao

it was an ester. it was from empirical so 2 O and the IR spectrum at 1750cm^-1 indicated ester.

IMG_5820.jpeg was this the correct structure? I thought so cause 5 proton environments and benzene had 2 cause 2 close peaks? Matches the formula ig but ppl getting diff so maybe its wrong

Guys paper 2 pre release im so scared otll be so much DM

I'm thinking ~65% for an A*... 2024 had more accessible questions imho

last year was 82% for an a* no way it'll drop... if loads of ppl found it had i think minimum 75% for a* and thats even pushing it.. but for sure paper 1 last year was more straightfoward

yeah last yr paper 1 separately was 89/110 for an A* so this yr it might drop to 84?
