i have a feeling paper 2 will be really hard since paper 1 was so nice - kind of expecting a question on inflation maybe?

I struggled with time management a lot in paper 1 so I'm praying that paper 2 will go better to raise my hopes of getting an A*. Really hoping for an economic objectives question or supply-side policies for one of the essay 25 markers, although I know that objectives came up quite recently. Protectionism and expenditure switching policies would also be gorgeous to add in some contextual information surrounding USA tariffs.

Inflation wouldn't surprise me as an extract due to covid supply shocks. I feel like the Thames water extract was mainly from 2022-23 news, during the recessionary period for the UK, and interest rates went right up to prevent inflation which means that maybe something along those lines could come up.

I'm with you on protectionism and supply side policies that's my dream - I can't imagine a context in which protectionism would come up in a paper written in 2022/23 but we can hope

Do you guys think prioritising financial markets, international economy monetary, fiscal and supply side polices would be best until exams? Because i feel like the others dont come up as much other than inflation and unemployment.

My teacher said financial markets primarily comes up in the MCQs under paper 3. He predicted inflation, supply-side policy, trade, exchange rates and the BoP as topics likely to come up. Conflicts between objects and fiscal policy is also very useful regardless.

i think something related to investment could definitly come up as it hasnt in prevoius years and would make for a good 25 marker, esp when written in 2022/2023 with lots of investment post covid

how is everyone revising ? i feel like im so bad at writing essays for econ and im still not done with revising all the content

Has anyone got any predictions?? Anything highly likely to come up. Also, what would you recommend to 100% know inside and out. And what facts and statistics should I learn, for example, regarding policies and targets.

at this point you are better going through past paper questions and planning your key points what you would say use the mark sceme as well. no point planning it wrong... this will help you in the exam at getting a really solid plan down and you can then peice the content together. no point knowing all the content but not being able to plan an answer ... (this happened to me lmao ) best of luck. and worse comes to worse ad / as diagram !!!

know all the relevant growth, inflation, government finance figures. theres a really good econ dal video called macro stats for 2025. even if its just the current growth rates1.1% inflation 2.6% national debt 97% of gdp it will still get you marks , doesnt need to be really showing off to get to high levels. best of luck.

For structuring essays what I find works is (per paragraph, excl intro and conclusion): Definition, diagram, PEEL furthermore, another PEEL if I have time but unlikely, then 2 however evaluation points as a separate small paragraph. Do that 2x and a third paragraph without a diagram but use a real-world example.

is that 2 eval points for each paragraph? also i find my paragraphs to be hella long sometimes bc i bring in other points to strengthen my chains of analysis like other effects my initial point could have so is that a good thing to do or is it better to put it in a different paragraph to make the paragraph look clearer

Hello i need urgent help. I've been tryna collect as many case studies for every single topic or feature of policy that could come up but I feel like this is very inefficient. Do we only need a handful of case studies to help us pull through or are we really expected to find a case study for absolutely everything?

2 Eval points per paragraph yes, then also evaluation in the conclusion discussing short/long run, elasticity, time lag etc. Also it really depends on how much time you have. I'd rather have 3 strong points analysed on one area, but if you can write more then do, the more you include the better. 2 paragraphs with a lot of analysis would also be very effective. If I have time I tend to do a 'furthermore, X could lead to Y and ...' before my evaluation.

oh yea ok ty i think i might stick to just one area per paragraph bc then i wouldnt run out of time and be able to stay on topic. do u think u would be able to show me like a PEEL paragraph uve written for macro i just wanna see how detailed id have to be
