I was wondering if anyone or their teachers had made predictions for either papers.
Incase other people come looking here I’m open to all texts but I’ll list my specific texts below!

Paper 1 (May 14th)
- The Tempest
- A Doll’s House and Rossetti’s Selected Poems (interchangeable between texts)

Paper 2 (May 22nd)
- Dystopian unseen extract (any predictions in general? Novel wise or date wise)
- The Handmaid’s Tale and 1984

I believe I saw someone say it was Act 3 Scene 3 (the banquet and harpy scene), and the question was ‘punishment is a key theme of the play’ (or something along those lines).

My teacher has narrowed down the extracts that may be used for the Tempest, which are between Act 2 Scene 2, Act 3 Scene 1 and Act 3 scene 2.

Ah okay that’s not a bad mix. I saw another teacher on tiktok predict it would be Act 3 Scene 2. She got last year’s Hamlet question right so there is a possibility.

She also said that the question may be about the play having dark comedy. So may be good to have a look over that just in case!!

for ibsen and rossetti, I feel like fear could be an important one. fear of god/fear of unworthiness/fear of male society for rossetti, fear of society as well for ibsen, fear of change etc there would be a lot to talk about and they havent done it?

my teacher is convinced the tempest extract and essay will be on ferdinand and miranda/love. so maybe 3.1 or something ?

That sounds reasonable to be fair, and probably a good shout as I don’t believe there has been one similar to that (atleast recently). Thank you!

That could be a possibility. I believe there was a sample paper with that extract recently though, but there it could be our actual question. I will revise that aswell then. Thank you!

A list from a teacher online, who managed to predict the Hamlet question last year, are:

The Tempest: Act 3, Scene 2 (specifically the section where Caliban is worshiping Stephano)
and ‘The play’s comedy can best be described as dark.’

Ibsen/Rossetti:
‘They say that in love ‘opposites attract’.’
- Attraction

‘In literature, the wealthy are often condemned.’
- Wealthy and unwealthy

‘It never turns out well for prejudiced people.’
- Prejudice and its effects

‘Being older doesn’t necessarily mean wiser.’
- Older and Younger generations

‘Literature celebrates the unconventional.’
- Exploration of the unconventional

‘In literature, writers make their opinions clear by choosing whom to punish.’
- Punishment

(All from Michelle Weaving on tiktok)
Not sure if she has released Paper 2 predictions yet though.
