KCL - Is Accommodation First Come First Serve?

Is KCL accommodation allocated on a first come first serve basis? The only information I was able to find online was from a thread from 14 years ago, which assured that it wasn't, but wanted to ask to check. KCL is going to be my firm choice but I don't want to rush my decision with my insurance choice (I've only heard back from all my offers not long ago). Thanks in advance!

based on booking SSA last year, kcl releases accomodation spots randomly throughout spring and summer, releasing a bunch of rooms from random accoms each time, so basically if you want a specific accom it's better to start looking early as you have a better chance of happening upon the one you want as rooms get taken fairly quickly each time they're released, but there is a chance of getting the one you want later if you happen to check at the right time. so basically it's kind of first come first serve but not all the rooms get taken.

Oh, interesting. Also, good thing I asked, lol. When you say "randomly", is there absolutely no pattern to the timings of releases or is it on somewhat of a regular basis?

Also, I've seen quite a few users who seem to want SSA, what were your reasons for choosing it? I have an offer for Psychology which is mostly taught at Guy's Campus so I probably won't be applying there, but I've yet to do proper research, so we'll see.

it's fairly regular but as far as I know there's no schedule - I'd just check every morning and I got the room I wanted within like a week.
I mainly chose ssa because of how close it is to strand as I was doing English lit, and it's also got quite nice modern rooms + kitchens. I wouldn't recommend it for psychology though as it is quite far from Guy's
