Reapplying to Uni for 2025 – UCAS & Student Finance Questions

Hi everyone,

I’m applying for university for 2025 entry after previously applying last year.

Last year, I applied through UCAS and Student Finance, but I ended up withdrawing from both my university place and my Student Finance application.
Now I’m applying again for a new course and submitting a new UCAS application for 2025.

I wanted to ask if I need to start a completely new UCAS application, or if I can update my old one with my new choices. Also, for Student Finance, can I use my previous account to reapply, or do I need to submit a brand new application from scratch? Or what do I do instead if I withdrew from my old sfe application?

Any advice would be appreciated. Just want to make sure I’m doing everything right this time around.

Thanks in advance

Good evening,

When i reapplied for UCAS, i used the same account to log in, and then started a new application. You should be able to start a new application on your account page.

As for the SFE, I am not 100% sure, but if you log in to your account, you should be able to look and see if there is an option to continue or start a new application. If not, I suggest you contact the Student Finance England to ask.

I wish you all the best in your applications, and if you have any questions, please let us know, and we will be happy to help.

All the best,

Yes there is an option for me to start a new application, but I was just thinking if there was any way in which you could just replace the university and change the year of entry but that’s probably only possible for UCAS Applications and not for SFE.

Good afternoon,

It might be easier for you to restart the SFE application as well, as everything is fresh and will have the correct information.

We currently have a thread for 2025 applicants, where new students can find and talk to each other. Similarly, the student ambassadors have posted key tips for joining the university. You might find it helpful to see if anyone else has had the same question.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

All the best,

Oh ok, yeah il do that then also I actually applied for the University of Reading but got rejected as they want a 6 in GCSE Maths for Computer Science but I am predicted DDD in my BTEC Extended Diploma in IT which their requirements are DDM, and I’m doing an EPQ too but I have asked quite a few times now and they said I won’t be able to get in, as I got a 4.
