Funding for additional foundation year (urgent)

Hi,

Below is information from my previous post:

Hi, I have two years of previous study on a BSc (Hons) Environmental Sciences with a Foundation Year (Year 0), in which I completed the foundation year before dropping out in May/ June of Year 1. I started my course on September 2019 before dropping out in May/ June 2021.

I haven't applied yet because I'm not sure if my compelling personal reasons for depression and anxiety will be accepted and 4 years have passed since I was in higher education. So, I would like to know if you can help and provide information on how much funding I would likely receive for the following two courses:

Bioengineering BEng (Hons) degree 4 years full-time with placement year or 3 years full-time

Materials Science and Engineering BEng (Hons) degree 4 years full-time with placement year or 3 years full-time Thanks!

I already received a response in regards to the above.

My New Query:

With one of my uni options I am considering applying to, it is possible I may be accepted onto a foundation year rather than first year due to the L3 Access course I am studying/ due to finish this summer.

In that case what is the maximum number of years SFE funds a course for?

I wanted to know if it would be an issue if I decided to do a placement year or study abroad year in the future? Would 5 years be funded if the CPR is accepted?

Or if not accepted and I funded the foundation year, then would I receive funding for the placement or study abroad year?

Also, if I did a 4 year course with one of the years being the foundation year, would I still need to self fund the foundation year or would it be fully funded?

Extra information about my previous foundation year:

I did not leave with any qualification the year I completed for the Environmental Sciences with a Foundation Year course, only 120 foundation year credits. My old university sent me my academic transcript after I withdrew which says "(Degree of Bachelor of Science - attempted but NOT conferred) - No award conferred." under the Information Identifying the Qualification section.

With the information provided, can you confirm if I would need to self fund the foundation year or if it would be fully funded?

Thanks!

Hi EA_,

You would still need to self fund the foundation year of the new course, unless you have valid acceptable CPR evidence for that additional year of support for the Tuition Fee Loan.

Thanks, Clare
