No that’s right about plasmolysing
Wait really bc I said no photosynthesis so no glucose produced so water potential is lower outside so the water exits the leaf cells

Not too sure why you would add photosynthesis in. I said about the sticky thing the bacteria produces blocking the xylem, so water cannot go through to leaves and there’s a loss of turgor pressure so the leaf cells become flaccid/plasmolysed can’t remember which one I put.

Wait no that’s what I put I just put one line abt photosynthesis that no water = no photosynthesis but apart from that I put the same

Yes I wrote that but also mentioned transpiration for some reason and maybe osmosis which is probably pushing it... I don't remember if I wrote flaccid though so potentially 3/4 marks or 2 if they hate me 😃

For the calculation I got 0.005 for the leaves wilting I put water can't be transported through the xylem so less photosynthesis and the leaf dries up.

I'm annoyed I didn't put that. I basically used the logic of malaria so i said that the beetle is a vector for the bacterium as part of the bacterium's life cycle takes place inside the beetle, so i said that when the beetle feeds on the plant the bacterium is inserted into the xylem vessel where it then produces the sticky substance that makes it wilt. so annoyed i didn't think of what the xylem actually does, hoping it's like any 4 from, but tbh as i was writing it i almost didn't believe it could be worth 4 marks.

I was thinking that too bc it didn’t say to correct it and it was only 1 mark but idk

normally they'll allow either (rounded up or down from what ive seen on other mark schemes). I rounded up

Reply 57

bro what was the answer to that dandelion question I somehow got 78.5

Reply 58

u forgot to multiply 3

Reply 59

its 236 (rounded up 235.5)
