yeah that's what I wrote, do you think I lost a mark because I forgot to say to dissolve the soil sample in water before testing with ph

I mean not gonna lie probably, because the soil itself wouldn’t actually show a colour change if you pour indicator on it.

help!!
1) i put that they could measure the quadrat along a transect across the pitch at different distances e.g 2m^2 intervals (is that still fine?)
2) for the three marker about antibiotic resistance i spoke about the test for checking if a bacteria had antibiotic resistance or not e.g antibiotic marker gene ext. is that completely off topic 💔
3) for the quadrat one to measure the soil pH i said put water ON THE SOIL and didnt say sample though, is that fine? i did say to add water ext use a universal indicator and compare with a colour chart/ use a pH probe and compare with the quadrat samples, is that still fine?
Not necessarily, because I’m pretty sure the question mentioned something about it being ‘random’ or something else, either way you’d only do intervals with a transect along an environment with a gradient to show how abiotic features affect biotic features.
That is off topic I think, your not wrong but I don’t think it’d get a mark because it’s more ‘describe’ as in describe a practical.
I mean your whole pH thing is right, I just don’t think practically pouring water on soil directly will allow for you to compare colours, but the marker may see past this and maybe see your wording as vague, still rewarding you with the mark(s).

Depends because to get a 9 you can usually get 20 marks wrong so if your confident with the rest then no your not cooked

to do a-level biology, what grade would it be best to get at gcse? i think i might get a high 7/low 8. is this fine? i’ve seen loads of people saying that if you get a 9 you’ll be safe but what does this mean for me 🥀

Depends partly on how good your teachers are i guess. maybe best asking them what grade you'd be likely to get based upon what you think you'll get in your GCSE.

I mean, honestly, the best grade was to get is just to get your requirement grade at the sixth form you wanna go to because at the end of the day, many sixth forms say a minimum of 6 in biology and honestly all that matters is you get in and study from the get go so you can get high grades like A*/A. You could know all the content and still be getting 6s/7s at GCSE.
