How did everyone find it? I think it went good but I can’t predict because obviously it’s essay based. Lots of my friends found it quite hard. I’m interested in what people think and if anyone can find answers so I can forget about it and move on.

some parts were easy however it was hard the essay based
. mixed reactions tbh

Everything escaped my mind for the last franchising question solid 5/10

Reply 5

I think the franchising question was one of the better ones the Sainsbury’s one stumped me a little tbh

i think it was ok but not great because not much came up and the case study like the app one confused me alot. the last case study was so good tho but now im confused if it said the franchisor payed for the training or the franchisee had to pay for the training??

Yes it was about how Sainsbury’s are impacted by using small businesses to supply their products in their supermarkets

Please tell me that you did WJEC Eduqas though. I better not have missed a long question.

Don’t worry likelihood that you just don’t remember as if you did the last question you probably did that question

I did WJEC (not WJEC Eduqas) so we did a different paper, so thankfully I didn’t miss a long question.

The exam was alright, but I messed up on the Sainsbury’s question. I had never seen such a question before, so I ended up writing about how small businesses are in desperate need of customers. For the cons, I wrote that small businesses don’t benefit from economies of scale, so they have to sell their products at higher prices, which forces Sainsbury’s to sell at higher prices as well. For another pro, I mentioned that the desperate need for customers could result in Sainsbury’s having huge profit margins, as they might sell less but at higher prices. Time ran out just as I was about to write the conclusion, and I also missed that 4-marker, where I only managed to write one point and explain it.

Also, for the supply chain question, did anyone else think the answer was “procurement”?

Yes I answered procurement. For the Sainsbury’s one I wrote about how small businesses products are usually cheaper and most people going to local supermarkets like Sainsbury’s are on a budget so tend to choose unbranded products. This would boost Sainsbury’ssales revenue and profit as they add an additional sum on to the product. I can’t remember the other thing I wrote about though and not sure if that’s worth any marks

So yeah, we’re on the same track.
I hope Paper 2 will be as good as Paper 1.

Anyone find this a lot harder than any past paper? (talking about wjec, not wjec Eduqas) The wording on some of the questions was atrocious. Hope the grade boundaries are low this year
