Brighton University Summer School
Hi! i have applied for the brighton summer school and i was wondering if anyone has done it before and if anyone has been rejected from it before? I want to gauge my chances as i'm really excited to go! i come under the outreach critera btw

I did the computer science online open day a few years ago so i'm happy to give my experience of what it was like. I'm not sure which subject you've applied to do but a lot of the core info will be the same.
Every day there is a lecture/ talk about either the subject, or general uni information. You also have a subject specific project that you get to complete throughout your time there. This will depend on what subject your doing as to what it is. Art summer schools are much different to law. Some of the summer schools also have visits to local areas of interest.
There will also be current students working the summer school which is a great way to find out what it is actually like to study the subject as well as what it's like to study at Brighton! They are also the people that may 'mark' your project (essentially give you feedback on what you've done which is really helpful!)
If your attending the in person/ on campus summer schools you get to stay in actual uni accommodation for the entirety of the summer school which is an amazing way to get a feel for what its like to be a uni student. you will share a kitchen and bathrooms with 6-8 other summer school attendees so its just like uni! In the evenings there are social activities so its just not all work!
