Hi @a1234567891234,

Thank you for your message 😊

It’s great that you’re considering Occupational Therapy at either Oxford Brookes or Canterbury Christ Church!

If you're thinking about Oxford Brookes, here are a few things you may wish to consider:

You'll take part in a supervised placement each year, giving you the opportunity to apply everything you learn on the course in a professional context.

The course is accredited by the HCPC and the Royal College of Occupational Therapists, so you’ll graduate ready to register and practise in the UK.

You’ll learn alongside students from diverse backgrounds, with a strong emphasis on practical skills, collaborative learning, and person-centred care.

Our Occupational Therapy Society and simulated learning environments add extra opportunities for hands-on learning and peer support.

We're currently ranked 15th in the UK for Health Professions (Guardian 2025).

It could also be worth thinking about what kind of environment will suit you best; how close to home you’d like to be, the university culture, and what you’re looking to gain out of your university experience. These factors can have a big impact on your overall university experience!

Good luck with your decision, and please get in touch if you have any questions about the course at Oxford Brookes.

Best wishes,

Clare

Hi,

There are a few things that can help you make up your mind.

If you can get to the university open days, you can have a good look at the facilities, chat to staff and students and check out the accommodation and local area. (If you have already, where feels like home?). You can do a lot of this online via the university's web pages.

Keep in mind, you will be at that uni for three years!

Location, do you want to move far away or stay close to home? Or, which type of uni do you want to study at? You can use your favourite online maps to see how far the campus is from the respective cities, etc.

Affordability will play a role; would one place be easier on the finances than the other (travel, food - anything).

In the end, it is up to you; see which one fits your personality.
