The Student Room Group

Be completely honest, am I cooked for GCSEs

I’m not expecting all 9s but i definitely want some decent grades. Is it too late to get 7s and 8s? These are my mock results:
PE: 8
combined science: 7,7
geography: 6
maths: 5
english lang: 5
french: 5
DT: 5
english lit: 4
religious studies: 1
This is without revision

If you mean some 7s and 8s, then no it's not too late. If you mean all 7s and 8s, then yes it's too late, particularly for those subjects where you're below a 5 currently.

Thanks, do you think the subjects that are at 5s can get to 7s?

Well, the closer your mock grades were to a 7 the better the chance of reaching a 7.

The difference between a 5 which was just short of a 6, and a 7 which you just scrape isn't always that much. So it's possible that you'd be able to get some of those 5s to 7s, yes.

I failed my RS mock in December and got a 7 in March. Spam 12 markers learn the whole content yourself and practice as much as you can. 2 weeks ain't a lot but i feel like if you was really pushing yourself you could scrape a 5

also you forget nothing is impossible like you could do it, if your dedicated and try hard enough i don't see why not don't let people on here tell you what you can and cant get they don't know your true capability.

yeah i’ve been looking at RS and it doesn’t seem too difficult so I am gonna try quite hard now.

Have you used your mock papers to highlight your gaps and work on them?

if you gt this without revision your amazing its not hard to go up 3 grades as long as you recognise your weaknesses make sure you do lots of past papers mark the test on your own and make the answers you got wrong into flash cards
for maths do a past paper then watch the walk through on youtube to mark your answers and learn everything you got wrong i went from a 5 to 8 in literally 2 weeks for bio and chem by doing this

haha thanks this is really helpful ive realised that flash cards are really effective but I didn’t make any because I wasn’t thinking about revision so for a levels i’m going to start that from the beginning
