I’m in first year and I’ve found it very difficult so far. Id say that you should only pursue it if you have a genuine interest in it and I don’t mean you kinda find it cool and that’s why you want to do it , you should be actively watching videos and project trying to learn more about the field. Id say to get a head or prepare yourself start learning about arduinos and c programming then once you’ve learnt as much as you can create a project using your knee knowledge,id recommend a remote control car, you could buy a kit from Amazon assemble and program it. You could also talk about your personal project in an epq or your personal statement which will help strengthen your application.
