How do Coventry university work out your final grade
Are we talking about an undergraduate honours degree? For a degree in which you're in the final year? For which you enrolled in the final year in Autumn 2024? If so, then although individual courses can modify the rules, the general approach is as follows:
"6b.11.1 Classification Calculation ... b) ... The classification shall be based upon the following calculations, whichever is the highest:
i) the average mark of the 100 credits worth of modules with the highest mark at level 6 or above; or ii) the average mark of the 220 credits worth of modules with the highest mark at level 5 and above (to include a maximum of 120 credits at level 5).
iii) the average marks of the 300 credits worth of modules with the highest mark at level 4 and above (to include a maximum of 120 credits at each of levels 4 and 5)."
I've reformatted the above slightly for readability. And yes, the original text misses the "or" between ii) and iii), and ends ii) with a full-stop.
I don't think I've ever managed to successfully post a link to a document on the Coventry SharePoint site, as the format of the URLs it uses completely confusea TSR. But if the following works, then you can read the above in context at this address:
