Seminar Check In code

Hi

I am trying to join my online seminar, but when I click ‘Check In’ it’s asking for a code, I have not received any codes and keep hitting a brick wall when I ask anyone at the Uni.

Any advice on how to obtain the Check In code would be greatly appreciated.

Check the email (or similar) which provided instructions of how to join the seminar very carefully, to ensure a check-in code isn't buried in there somewhere.

Contact others on your course who are attending the seminar to see how they gained access.

Contact whoever is hosting, or who arranged, the seminar for advice.

Thank you for the advice, I’ve checked through everything, I’ve been onto IT support, I’ve emailed the lecturer and I’ve got nowhere, unfortunately I don’t know anyone that is on the course, this has been going on for 4 weeks now, it’s so frustrating. I’ve also tried to get a disabled bay for parking and am getting nowhere with that, so I’ve been unable to attend in person either. It’s just one thing after another.

So what did IT Support say? What did the lecturer say? Have they both no idea why you're being asked for a check-in code? Or do they accept that a check-in code is required, but don't know how to establish what it is?

Is the seminar being provided by some mainstream software (Zoom, Teams, etc.) or by something specific to your university? Are you connecting as a guest or have you actually logged into that software using your university credentials?
