i reckon section b will be media and women

didn't both of those come up last year?

Hey I’m doing Britain 1625-1701 and I was just wondering for section B if it was possible for two questions on the economy to come up or if it’s one on economy and one on social and intellectual challenge. I just really don’t like the economy part and don’t know much about it so I’m hoping to perfect society instead 😭😭

The paper you do for this unit will be one of the following:
1A: The crusades, c1095–1204
1B: England, 1509–1603: authority, nation and religion
1C: Britain, 1625–1701: conflict, revolution and settlement
1D: Britain, c1785–c1870: democracy, protest and reform
1E: Russia, 1917–91: from Lenin to Yeltsin
1F: In search of the American Dream: the USA, c1917–96
1G: Germany and West Germany, 1918–89
1H: Britain transformed, 1918–97
Post below with which one you are studying.

I teach the American Dream unit where I work, so I'm happy to help answer questions about that.

Do you have any predictions for American Dream 1F? Heard immigration hasn't been asked for a while.

It hasn't been asked for a while but it's definitely been on before.

Last year's civil rights question was on the similarity between African American and other minority civil rights. I doubt it'll be a similarity to minorities question again so I expect it'll be a "how much progress was made in the period X-Y" type of question.

media was section A and family section B so yeah fair enough. It seems like education hasn't been asked often

Section B is usually either society or economy but the exam board have asked two economy questions before so it’s possible, but I don’t think they’ve done two society questions together in section B though

Honestly just revise both because society questions do tend to be more niche
For my option the exam board aren't consistent with which essay topics appear in section A vs section B. There's a more common order but it can change. Unless you have literature from Edexcel otherwise I wouldn't bank on your section A and section B essays always being particular topics. Other units may be different but option F doesn't have a fixed formula for that.

yeah i think education is likely, also maybe something on government under khrushchev or the economy under lenin because neither of those have come up for a few years

yeah my teachers said the same pointing out immigration as likely. I think it might be useful to focus a bit on the wars e.g korea and vietnam but its honestly so hard to narrow it down bc we learn it in themes

i'm not completely sure if you're asking about the ussr but if you are it would probably be something about whether it was beneficial to the people or whether it fulfilled the regime's aims or something like that

Yeah definitely same about education (sadly) I'm not really sure for the first questions to be honest wouldn't really like a Brezhnev and Khruschev question tho

For section b society they haven’t asked a question on philosophers or radical groups so maybe those

Not too sure on economy, maybe cloth trade? Or agriculture

For section A politics Im thinking maybe the civil war or Cromwell

For section A religion didn’t come up last year so I think it’ll be on there this year

For section C last year it was the toleration act so it’ll probs be something on politics or finance since I doubt they’ll ask anything about toleration act again but idk

Sorry this is kinda long
