Does anyone have an idea of questions that could come up for education for route e?

1) they could assess continuity across different leaders like they do with family policy or arts and culture etc
2) assessing how significant it was for promoting stability/strengthening support for party and the regime, compare that with social welfare, housing, women's rights etc.

Me I'm thinking economy, work relations, maybe education, immigration, maybe standards of living? wbu

good predictions honestly!! industrial relations def might come up, immigration too... the thatcher question could be on the economy although i'll be surprised if it is. honestly i just hope the questions are good, im stressing a lot for this exam as last year they had role and status of women, welfare provision, political landscape 1918-79, leisure and travel, and the extent to which the thatcher governments changed britain, so basically everything has been done now i guess

The paper you do for this unit will be one of the following:
1A: The crusades, c1095–1204
1B: England, 1509–1603: authority, nation and religion
1C: Britain, 1625–1701: conflict, revolution and settlement
1D: Britain, c1785–c1870: democracy, protest and reform
1E: Russia, 1917–91: from Lenin to Yeltsin
1F: In search of the American Dream: the USA, c1917–96
1G: Germany and West Germany, 1918–89
1H: Britain transformed, 1918–97
Post below with which one you are studying.

I teach the American Dream unit where I work, so I'm happy to help answer questions about that.

Is it possible to have a question on the similarities and differences between black civil rights direct action approaches, e.g. Greensboro, little rock, selma etc? Or do you think that can't come up because they aren't listed on the spec? I only say this because there's been a few questions on '...was the most significant reason for improvement'. Although I think it will most likely be 'there was limited improvement in the lives of black Americans'.

I think that's two narrow a question. Similarities between African Americans and other groups is a regular question (but came up last year), similarities within only the direct action campaigns is too narrow a focus. I suppose they could ask how similar campaigns for black civil rights were over a much larger period. But more likely in my view is a question along the lines of success: how accurate is it to say that direct action (or court cases) was the main way African Americans made progress in their civil rights year-year

Or a question about leadership possibly

unfortunately so. what units do you think are gonna show up

unit 1 is a guessing game, probably NOT the political landscape if I had to guess
unit 2 who knows, probably not education
unit 3 been a while since immigration...
unit 4 god knows
thatcher questions hardly wildly change

Leadership? What would that entail? Can't really think of anything besides martin luther king

Does anyone do G route?

yes! what do u think will come up. My teacher says ofc section A will be weimar and about the collapse. But he said that the other questions might be comparison of weimar Germany and frg. He advises that we shld go over education as that's never come up before, and women hasn't come up in a while. He also said we shld definetly have the knowledge for the frg economy

Something like:
"How accurate is it to say that the improvements to the position of African Americans was mostly due to the leadership of black organisations in the period 1955-80?"

If the other essay looks better - do that one instead.
This question would be broadly the same as a "did direct action lead to the biggest improvement?" type question in terms of the content - except in your answer you would put a leadership spin on it.

Oh yeah that would be a good question. There just seems to be a very limited scope of questions it could be for the civil rights topics but I won't complain if that's the question.

And that's only a limitation by this unit in the spec - there is a paper 3 option Edexcel offer entirely on civil rights. The history itself has a huge range of potential debates - they have to keep it narrow here because it's 1 theme out of 4 and 1 possible question out of 3 you must answer (from a choice of 5).

Immigration I'd agree with, for theme 2 I would expect a question on either 1917-1955 or on 1955-80, not combined. Minorities come up last year so not expecting that one.
Theme 3 - maybe living standards? Position of women was last year.
Theme 4 - no clue.

Hi! You are talking as if each theme comes up once in every exam paper for Paper 1F.... is this true?

stalin's economic plans was in 2023, we're probably more likely to get khrushchev, maybe specifically for agriculture because that's never come up
