Hi! You are talking as if each theme comes up once in every exam paper for Paper 1F.... is this true?

Yes, all except once on the AS paper (not the A Level qualification one), and in the 2017 A Level paper - which was the first time these exams ran, and I imagine the dodgy question Edexcel put on that attracted a lot of complaints. The past 6 years has consistently been 4 questions matching the 4 themes - just in different orders each time.

stalin's economic plans was in 2023, we're probably more likely to get khrushchev, maybe specifically for agriculture because that's never come up

you're right so maybe section A success of khruschev agriculture and brehznev governemnt which is pretty awful and section B education and culture which is also awful. Surely they well give at least one easier section a on lenin/stalin

yes! what do u think will come up. My teacher says ofc section A will be weimar and about the collapse. But he said that the other questions might be comparison of weimar Germany and frg. He advises that we shld go over education as that's never come up before, and women hasn't come up in a while. He also said we shld definetly have the knowledge for the frg economy

Oooooo do you think so?? Those are actually really good predictions icl lol. This is super helpful because girl I had 0 CLUE WHAT COULD COME UP AND NEITHER DID MY TEACHER LOL

Im backing an early industry under Lenin question cause they havn't really done that. Section B looking ropes but could be women which would be decent

Yes was defo 100% thinking about Immigration for Unit 3, Unit 2 I’m thinking something on Minority Rights, Unit 4 I’m thinking standards of living changing? I’m just hoping there not all Critiera or Factor. My friend thinks Unit 1 will be on something about early Republicanism? Not sure tho, Unit 1 is my weakest topic

tbh my least favourite is theme 4 I thinks so dry so I might just not revise it at all really 😭 idk how I feel about an immigration question bc I know alll the content for it but think the questions can be worded weirdly sometimes. I was thinking for civil rights maybe more focus on the earlier years and legal challenge because its seems quite udnertested ( but maybe im just delusional bc thats my fav part)

Minorities was on the 2024 paper, so I would be surprised to see it on this year's but it does appear regularly so could do 2 in a row.

Korea and Vietnam came up on the 2023 paper in relation to the decline in confidence of the presidency, although they would also fall under the anti-communism umbrella which covers the full period (and came up 2022). Impact of the cold war was also on 2019 and 2018 though asking slightly different questions each time. Korea and Vietnam have never been named on an A Level paper (Vietnam have been part of the AS questions before though).

You could even look at Korea and Vietnam in connection to changing styles of presidential leadership 1945-72, which is on the spec as its own point.

Thank you!! What do you think are the most likely things to be asked, I’m really struggling with the amount content and I know with History there’s only so much they can ask so a lot of the time it’s past paper questions re-worded/ different dates

Dates won't even be that different, because the spec gives the time periods that different topics can go between.

I agree that for theme 1 immigration is quite likely. Theme 2 I think the early period may be on there (perhaps Northern migration), or if it's later period there might be a debate between direct action or legal cases being the most successful methods of campaigning.

Theme 3 and 4 I'm less certain of. Last year was position of women and leisure time. Somebody earlier suggested living standards. I think that's a decent guess.

This is a thematic unit, but you don't have to revise thematically. You could go through your period decade by decade, remember some facts / stats and make sure they connect to all the possible themes.

E.g. I teach American Dream 1917-1980. So for that I'd advise people to:

Gather some facts that cover how 1920s republicanism affects:
- the president
- the economy
- immigration
- African Americans
- Women
- leisure time
- living standards
Etc.

Have a little look at how the Wall Street Crash 1929 affects all of the above

Then do the same for New Deal 1933-1941

Then repeat for WW2 1940s

Then go by decade, what changed in the 50s, the 60s, the 70s.

Could a question be asked specially on some groups like the successes of CORE, SNCC or Black panthers?
