Hi
I’ve been asked to submit my UK national family members passport or Certificate of
Naturalisation/Registration.
Do I now need to post my mother’s original passport/certificate to student finance as I previously sent copies?

Assuming this request was sent by e-mail, did they e-mail request the originals? Or, did it not make that clear?

Yes it was an email but doesn’t state original or copy anywhere. In addition to the certificate/passport I’ve also been asked to send a letter with addresses for last 3 years for me and my mom

Okay, thanks - the address history can definitely be uploaded, so you can do that whenever you're able.

When the e-mail mentioned the evidence did it include our address? Can you please tell us exactly how it was worded?

Assessment of student finance application for academic year 2025/26

Thank you for applying for student finance. So we can progress with your application, we need more information from you and your UK family member to confirm your immigration status.

You need to send us:
• Your UK national family members passport or Certificate of Naturalisation/Registration.
• A handwritten letter telling us any addresses you lived at from 31/12/2018 to Present.
• A handwritten letter telling us any addresses your family member lived at from 31/12/2018 to Present. The handwritten letter must be signed and dated, and include:
• The full address and postcode of each residence listed.
• The date you moved there and the date you moved out.

There must be no gaps between moving out of one address and moving into the next.You need to write your Customer Reference Number on every document and send them to:

P.O. Box 311
Darlington
DL1 9NZ

We’ll use your and your family member’s documents to check that you're eligible for student finance. We need your family member’s information because you’ve applied under a category that is dependent on your relationship.

Once we receive this information, we’ll be able to progress your application further and ensure sure you receive the correct student finance entitlement.

Your address history can definitely be uploaded.

The e-mail should have clarified that we need to have the Passport or Certificate of Naturalisation/Registration posted to us at that address.

Once we've seen these and that's all fine we can approve your application, rest assured.
