Marriage decreased my maintenance loan
Hi guys,
Can someone explain me why my maintenance loan has been decreased after i reported materiel status changed.
I get married 3 months ago, before i had full maintenance loan and grand for child under 17. Today I have been notified that my maintenance load has been cut off of 6k and grant for child removed. I need to repay overpayment obliviously. But I do not understand why this happened. The loan and grant has been assessed earning from year 22/23 when I haven’t been in relationship yet so not sure why marriage taken 3 months ago have an impact on loan. Additionally I still have a child, why grant has been removed?
Can someone is able to explain the logic in it?

They look into your partners earning during the 22/ 23 financial period since the maintenance loan is means tested. If you inform them that you were not in relationship during that period they will ask for the latest one. Best thing is to call them up and clear your doubts. Wish you all the best.
