student finance tuition fee only
I am a dependent visa holder have been in the UK for more than 3 years before the start of my course and my dad is a UK national since birth. Why cant I get maintainance loan also but only tuiton fee?

Hi there,
Normally, to be eligible for a Maintenance Loan you need to have Settled Status yourself.
So, if you get Settled Status at any point let us know: from that point on you may be entitled to a Maintenance Loan.

As i'am getting my settled status next year can i get the maintenance loan in the middle of the year? as I'am going to just apply for tuition loan this year 2025 and get the maintenence loan later on in the middle of the course would that be possible?

Hi pocapino,
Yes, it would be a pro rata amount from when you receive settled status. You would only be eligible for the Tuition Fee Loan in the meantime.
